ADAS - Alcohol & Drug Abstinence Service

ADAS is a specialist treatment centre for alcohol and drug dependant people - the only non-residential abstinence service in the North West. ADAS offers a day care service for people who are dependent on drugs or alcohol and who wish to become and remain abstinent (drug / alcohol free). You can refer yourself into the service, or someone else can make an appointment for you.

As well as running an intensive day care treatment course, ADAS offers basic career training, assistance into further/higher education and employment, ICT and music classes, art therapy and drama groups.

They also offer the 'RAMP' (Reduction and Motivation Programme). This runs for two hours, twice a week for five weeks and is an introduction to addiction/dependency and looks at people's motivation to stop misusing drugs/alcohol. On completion of the course, people who are still using can be referred to other drug/alcohol services in Stockport. People who are drug free or ready to become drug free can join the main ADAS programme.

Because families are affected by people's substance misuse, ADAS runs a structured family programme for family members and/or significant others. A family group runs one evening a week and one to one counselling is also available on request.

ADAS is open Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 5.00
